VDPS suggests consideration of the following points regarding wireless video intercom
- Wired video intercom systems generally produce superior results where wiring is possible.
- Wireless can produce good results between 120-150 meters under the right conditions.
- The best results are obtained with clear line of site between the outdoor camera and indoor monitor.
Obstructions e.g. solid brick walls or metal surfaces significantly reduce transmission distance. - "Dead spots" can occur as with any wireless transmission e.g. mobile phones.
Reception can be improved by moving the position of the indoor monitor. - The colour pictures, although good, are not as smooth as those with a properly wired system.
- The best results are obtained where there is low voltage power at both the camera and indoor monitor.
